ARIZONA CULTURAL TOUR RECAP

Hello my babes!

It has been a little over a month since I arrived back from my Arizona trip with the gals and I am so excited to share my experience and some bonus photos with you!

Being a blogger, I feel so fortunate that I get to travel with my blogger babes to such beautiful, educational, and cultural locations. Hashtag, blessed. I am so happy that I can take you on a little blog tour so you can experience all that we did, vicariously through me. Let’s fly!

On the first day of adventures, we arrived at the David Wright House for the 150th birthday celebration of this incredible foundation. This was a blogger’s wet dream! There was a gorgeous balloon installation that we were able to photograph with Lisa, my amazing photographer and bestie. I have to say, this was one of the coolest locations I have ever shot at and it was truly so special to see in person.

The next day was one my favorite days ever spent with blogger friends. We went on a special helicopter tour of the Valley’s canal networks and got a true education on how staying hydrated in the dry desert is possible. So much goes into preserving the canal networks and there are so many people devoted to keeping Arizona’s ground stay healthy and hydrated. So much so, that after the helicopter ride, we were educated even more on the canal networks at the historic Sandra Day O’Conner House. I felt like I was in college all over again with how much knowledge these special speakers knew about their great state. People are truly devoted to Arizona and it was really nice to be a part of and see.

For a change of pace, the next day, we had an amazing lunch at a place called Olive and Ivy along the Canal in Old Town Scottsdale. And ready for this!? We were greeted by a man people call the “Minister of Sunshine”! And boy, was he true to his name. We spoke about the blogging world and the effects it has on each of us as we run our businesses and were able to turn the tables and educate everyone there a little more about us and what we do. It was a really special conversation that I will never forget. The night to come was one of my absolute favorites! We were picked up and driven to Taliesin West Tour and Reception. This was one of the coolest and craziest places I have ever been in my life! We took jeep tours of the private shelters in the Sonoran Desert and were able to take some epic photos of the unique shelter structures designed by Taliesin graduate students. I was speechless. Students would build these solar powered, tiny houses and live in them as part of their college program. I will never forget all of our reactions when we walked up to them. Truly a surreal experience. After that we arrived back at the the most magical home on the grounds for some wine and light hors’ d’oeuvres. I felt like I was on a movie set back in the 70’s and this was probably one of the coolest homes I have even seen.

On our last morning, the amazing tour guides who ran the Arizona Cultural Tour held a special “Thank You” breakfast for us in a historical home downtown, where we learned about the history of downtown Phoenix. And thats not it! We took a pit stop at the Heard Museum, where we had a private viewing of the Frida Kahlo exhibit. The fashions and the history behind her were equally interesting and engaging. There is something so freeingabout being in a museum when no one else is around you. Ahh, nostalgia.

All in all, this trip was by far one of the most monumental trips I have ever been able to experience. I felt like I had gone abroad for five months with how much knowledge I gained from everyone involved in making this such a special trip for myself and my blogger honey’s.

Special thanks to our friends who made this trip so epic!
